Aromatherapy for self-love

Oh yes, candles! Feeling stressed from a crazy busy day or week of work? Tense from overthinking about a problem, or just because?, Aromatherapy candles are most often my first thought.

I certainly enjoy the sheer simplicity and luxurious feelings associated with aromatherapy. Most especially when I’m cleaned and moisturized wearing a slinky slip dress or loungewear. Very fancy.

The satisfaction I get from burning an aromatherapy candle while listening to music away from my mobile phone, computer social media, work, and just being still and breathing. The feeling of just doing this with a relaxing playlist in the background is exquisite and intimate.

Benefits of aromatherapy candles

Aromatherapy candles have many therapeutic benefits on the body and mind. The oils used to make these candles have various benefits such as mood-uplifting, mind-clearing, health benefits, nostalgia, enhancement, etc.

Subsequently, as they burn, they disperse the effects of the oils in the room causing the desired result. It may be for calmness, healing, reflection, relaxation, etc. However, each respective essential, oil which is made from plants, has a specific purpose. How do aromatherapy candles work?

Interestingly, what makes aromatherapy candles stand out is the use of essential oil, while other kinds of candles make use of fragrance oil. The difference between essential oil and fragrance oil is that fragrance oil is made chemically while essential oil is extracted from plants through a chemical process.

Particularly, Fragrance oils are used to make scented candles which are used to freshen the smell of a room. Mostly used in living rooms, during the holidays, kitchens, and bathrooms.

The characteristic that differentiates fragrance oils from an essential oil is the stronger scent throw of fragrance oils.  Essential oils smell mild compared to fragrance oils.

Therefore, when aromatherapy candles are used, the supposed aromatherapy benefits of burning these oiled-up waxes should help uplift your mind. Sense of smell is certainly important in the mental health sphere. A little whiff of something which smells nice like spices, and plant oils, can increase positive emotions. Embrace whatever positive feeling you get from inhaling a nice scent.

Important note: Neither oils are safe for consumption. Both oils are to be used with caution
