What is body butter?

Homemade Body butter like the name says, is literally butter for the body, made at home. It’s really buttery soft, and depending on the production process, can be really fluffy too.

I’m a huge lover of all things body and skin care because it makes me feel like I’m actually taking time to do something nice for myself.

I have normal skin on my body, my face is a whole different story. My body skin is neither dry nor oil but really gets that moisturized look and feel every time I use good body butter. But too much makes me feel like a mess, especially in hot seasons.

Body oils are good, I enjoy using them on my damp skin, and even with that, it would leave my skin feeling dry, and this especially happens with industrially manufactured body oils. Body oils may not be enough for people with super dry skin.

Subsequently, I discovered body butter down the lane of switching most of my body care products with homemade and natural substitutes.

Your body really loves clean and well-made products. It reacts so well to them, glows with its whole might. Healthy skin boosts your confidence by a very great percentage.

Homemade body butter is especially very beautiful for the skin during winter. Also, the rich oil and moisture contents protect the skin from the harsh cold dryness of the weather and just keep you feeling warm. A successful Fall skincare routine should contain good body butter.

Furthermore, the productivity I achieve from making body butter or anything else, makes me feel like a human in control with some semblance of control, and it’s a very profitable skill too.

Hence, the knowledge of making your own butter from home can become a business and a source of income. People love a good homemade product and especially a nice look, sweet eventing body butter.

Nevertheless, if you can grow a small network of people who are aware of your products and have the willingness to buy them, you will be putting a good amount of coins into your business, and depending on how well it goes, you have your own full-blown LLC just from making body butter.

Besides, you can give the body butter away as gifts or souvenirs, birthday presents, etc. to someone who appreciates the value of your creation.

Tips for using body butter

  • I’m not a skincare professional so I’m saying this from my personal observations. If you have oily skin, I’m not sure you should be using body butter in huge quantities or frequently at all.
  • For normal skin, you should use body butter after 2 to 3 days.
  • For dry skin, you can use them every day.
  • It is important to use them when your skin is damp, straight from the bathroom.
  • Be gentle and use the right quantity, don’t heavily slab on a huge amount of body butter to your skin. You’ll end up attracting greasiness and dirt on your skin, plus you’ll look like an overly glazed donut, and not in a good way. Use small amounts, the hydration of your skin with body butter is a process, not an instantaneous miracle.
  • Apply body butter on your feet and palms overnight for softer skin in these areas. You could apply it to your body too but I personally prefer to be skincare free at night, especially on my body.
  • Apply body butter on your skin in slow massaging motions to get to full effects of the body butter. For some reason I really enjoy slowly applying body butter on my stomach, it makes me feel like I’m molding my stomach into my ideal sexy tummy.

Whenever I apply some of my homemade body butter and wear my very comfortable loungewear, I feel so fulfilled. My life is and will be okay.😌
