How to make turmeric tea
To learn how to make Turmeric tea, you need turmeric powder. I’ve written a step-by-step method of making turmeric powder from fresh turmeric rhizomes. You may also use fresh turmeric rhizomes if you don’t mind the stain.
You also need the following;
Saucepan or pot.
You may choose to add another ingredient like Ginger which is also high in antioxidants.
Black pepper
Step by step of making turmeric tea
Method 1;
- If using fresh ginger and turmeric, clean thoroughly to eliminate sand and other forms of impurities.
- Grind the turmeric and ginger with a grater or any means you feel comfortable with. (If using hands t grind, please cover from excessive turmeric stains)
- Boil water in a small clean saucepan or pot, over low heat
- Add turmeric, and ginger, to the boiling water.
- Also, add black pepper and ground or the whole cinnamon
- Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
- Carefully remove the hot pot from the fire with something to protect you from the hot pot.
- Carefully strain the tea into your cup or teapot
- Serve in tea cups and enjoy. You may add milk or other natural sweeteners.
Method 2;
Tea bags method.
- Pour the turmeric powder into a clean dry bowl
- You can add some crushed cinnamon and black peppers
- You can add some dried crushed ginger
- Add 2 teaspoons full of turmeric powder to the tea bags
- Add one tea bag into a tea cup with hot water and allow to sit for 3 to 5 minutes
- Remove the tea bag, and add milk and honey when the tea isn’t so boiling hot.
Method 3; Tea bag method version 2
In case you can have dry ground ginger and crushed cinnamon available.
- If you have fresh ingredients but dry turmeric, simply put only the dry turmeric in a tea bag.
- Cook your other ingredients like fresh ginger and cinnamon sticks, and black pepper over low heat in boiling water for 10 minutes.
- Strain carefully into a teapot.
- Add the turmeric tea bag into a teacup and pour carefully, the strained water from the teapot into the teacup.
